Taco Seasoning

Adapted from: Bill Echols on Allrecipes.com

Serves: 1/3 cup of seasoning

Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:
2 tbsp chili powder (1 tsp+ if using Australian chili powder)
1 tbsp cumin
2 tsp salt
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp crushed red chili flake
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Purchasing pre-packaged taco seasoning is easy and affordable. It is also often filled with added fillers like sugar and preservatives. One batch of this homemade seasoning takes less than 5 minutes to put together and will make enough to serve several meals. Next time you have salsa, save the jar and lid and make a few batches of this taco seasoning if you go through it fast enough. Otherwise any small jar is perfect to store this seasoning.

Did you know that spices and herbs can be kept in sealed containers/bags in the freezer to preserve them longer? They do not get stuck together (they're dried!) so you can pull them out and use right away.

1/2 tsp crushed red chili flake

1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
